  1. Every culture has it's own superstitions and it's perfectly normal. The perfect number is twelve because we find it almost everywere, and 13 breaks the harmony. In a friday Jesus was crucified. The templiar knights were arested in a friday on 13 of October.

  3. I found some stuff oabut 13. I hope it is the right answer.

Numerologists consider 12 a "complete" number. There are 12 months in a year, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 labors of Hercules, 12 tribes of Israel, and 12 apostles of Jesus. In exceeding 12 by 1, Scientists said 13's association with bad luck "has to do with just being a little beyond completeness. The number becomes restless or squirmy."

Also, the fear of 13 to a Norse myth about 12 gods having a dinner party at Valhalla, their heaven. In walked the uninvited 13th guest, the mischievous Loki. Once there, Loki arranged for Hoder, the blind god of darkness, to shoot Balder the Beautiful, the god of joy and gladness, with a mistletoe-tipped arrow.
Balder died and the whole Earth got dark. The whole Earth mourned. It was a bad, unlucky day. From that moment on, the number 13 has been considered ominous and foreboding.

  5. I think that Friday 13 is so feared nowadays because for many, many years this day was also considered a dreadful day and we just continue the superstition. Another reason is that probably many horrible thing happend in the past on a Friday 13, and because 13 is un unlucky number, it is supposed that in this day must happend something bad. Any month's 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday. In 2009 this applies to the months February, March and November.

  7. The number 13 is associated with bad luck in some countries ,and even has a specifically recognized phobia (Triskaidekaphobia). Friday the 13th has been considered an unlucky day since 1800,as a combination between an unlucky day,Friday and the number 13

  8. It is considered that Friday 13th is an unlucky day because both Friday and number 13 are associated with bad luck. This superstition has been transmited from one generation to another, but there is no logical explanation.I don't believe in this even if it happens sometimes to have bad luck on Friday or on the 13th of a month. There are also people who pretend to be lucky on such a day.

Concerning today's activity ,I think it was good for us because we had the opportunity to know ourselves better by considering of our lifestyle.

  9. I started to search on the internet things about the "Friday 13th". Look what I've found.

According to some people, there is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" superstition before the 19th century. The earliest document in English was in 1869 in the Gioachino Rossini's biography.
There are several theories that have been proposed about the origin of the "Friday the 13th" superstition.
One theory states that it is a modern union of two older superstitions. 1. Thirteen is considered to an unlucky number because in numerology, twelve is the number that is thought to represent the completeness. Because there are twelve months of the year, twelve signs of zodiac, twelve Apostles of Jesus, whereas the number thirteen is considered an irregular number.
    2. According to the Christian Scripture and tradition, Friday is believed to be an unlucky day because this is the day when Jesus Christ was crucified.
Another theory about the origin of the superstition refers to the arrest of the legendary Kinghts Templar. The King Philip, secretly ordered the arrest of all the Kights Templar in France on Friday, October 13, 1307.- So the Friday 13th.
The connection between the superstition and the Knights Templar was popularized in 2003 in the novel " The Da Vinci Code".
And also I found out that in some other countries, instead of Friday, Tuesday the 13th is considered to be an unlucky day.

  10. In my opinon, everything is just a superstition! Although 13 is considered something unlucky, something not really good I do not think that a number can influence or affect a day of our lifes. It's true that when is Friday 13 we think that this is a bad or unlucky day. Well, I think thatit’s not. I think that all those stories about the fact that Friday 13 it's not a good day are just a concequence of the old fairtales told by our ancestors.
I think that only God can decide if a day can be good or bad, unlucky or not!
